Jerry Bertrand Builders of a Better Community

The Jerry Bertrand Builders of a Better Community Award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the community through volunteerism.  This award is named in recognition of Gerald “Jerry” Bertrand, a resident of Radville in the 1920’s and 30’s who, at the age of 16, successfully petitioned the Town Council to plant trees which now grace our streets and parks.  His vision helped create the beautiful townscape we see today.  This award seeks to honour those individuals who have spent a substantial amount of time and energy to improve the community.  The criteria for this award is more subjective than for the Living Heritage Award, therefore there are no fix guidelines, but we ask that a thoughtfully written recommendation accompany each nomination.  Please explain why you think the nominee is or has been a Builder of a Better Community.
