RLRP MISSION:
To provide quality facilities and diverse programs, and encourage participation in recreation to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Radville and District.
RLRP VISION:
Radville Laurier Regional Park is a leader in recreation serving a strong and healthy community.
RLRP GUIDING PRINCIPLES:
1. We believe recreation, sport and culture shall be regarded as primary services in our community.
2. We believe that access to recreation, sport and culture services in our community shall be the right of all our citizens.
3. We believe our community recreation committee should have an established, approved mission, vision and values statements.
4. We believe recreation, sport and culture services should form an integral part in our municipalities overall community service plan.
5. We believe in clearly engaging and including all citizens through public relations/advocacy strategies.
6. We believe in utilization of partnerships and collaboration towards delivery of recreation, sport and cultural services in our community.
BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Ball is a huge part of the summer sporting events. There is minor ball for most age groups played on three ball diamonds in the regional park.
CURLING: The Radville Curling Club is the proud owner of a four sheet curling rink. There is curling for every age group. There is a variety of leagues. The school age groups have school curling.
DANCE: The Radville Dance Club meets every week teaching boys and girls the fine art of both individual and group dance.
FISHING: Larsen’s Dam and Long Creek supply the fishing enthusiast lively perch and northern pike fishing in both summer and winter.
GOLF: There is a nine hole sand green golf course just minutes from downtown Radville. Everyone from the junior golfer to the most polished senior golfer will find the Robertdale Golf Course a challenge. We are also only a half an hour away from several eighteen-hole golf courses.
HUNTING: Wildlife habitat abounds within the Radville region and sport hunters from throughout North America converge on the area during fall hunting seasons. Weather you are a self guided hunter or need a local guide, Radville has lots to offer hunting enthusiasts.
HOCKEY: Radville is proud to support a great minor hockey association. There is hockey for every age group. The Radville minor hockey is a member of the Southeast Minor Hockey Association. The hockey is played in the arena located in the regional park. Additional information is available through the Radville Laurier Regional Park.
RODEO: The Long Creek Rodeo is held on father’s day weekend. This is a two-day rodeo, which has something for everyone. With well trained rodeo stock and high caliber riders this rodeo is one of the best amateur rodeos in the country. This rodeo is a community-sponsored event and has supported several community fund raising activities.
SWIMMING: Hot summers are common in Radville and the swimming pool is buzz with activity. Swimming lessons are offered through fully accredited lifeguards. Additional information is available through the Radville Laurier Regional Park.
4H CLUB: There are two 4H Clubs around Radville. One is a fed calf club and the other is a field crop club.
